We previously wrote about How to Get to Boston Stadium (Gillette Stadium) and now as more information has become available we want to shed some additional light on how logistics are looking and issues fans faced in a trial run on March 26, 2026 so we can all be more prepared. We were busy transporting the teams for the Brazil vs. France match, but are switching gears to be ready to do our usual fan ridesharing experiences for the upcoming 7 matches in June and July.

How did the trial run go?

WBZ News Boston - Foxboro residents not happy with traffic following World Cup friendly match at Gillette Stadium

Fans faced lots of traffic and long lines for MBTA trains. Some reportedly missed the beginning of the game due to traffic. On the way home there were reports shown above of fans getting out of their cars while stuck in traffic to urinate and abandoning typical rideshares and walking. Ultimately the game itself was a success and many fans enjoyed it. But what can we take away for being prepared for the soccer games in June and July?

How should you prepare for getting to the upcoming world soccer matches?

Plan your ride ahead of time! Let's look at the options again after the latest trial run:

Park at the Stadium:

Locals should be aware that the Kraft Group is not handling the operations for these big soccer matches. Reports have indicated less parking than usual will be available for this series of events and the typical plans/lots you are used to may not be what to expect since the stadium and surrounding parking is being sublet to event organizers. All guests should be prepared for changes to typical pricing as well The earlier games for a single standard vehicle appear to start at $149.

Public Transit:

  • MBTA Trains: This will still be a great option for many travelers but plan for long lines and prices are much higher than a usual train ticket and this option does not permit tailgating.

  • Buses - Organizers will have buses dropping people off within walking distance of the event.

Typical Ridesharing Vehicles: You should check with event organizers as things get closer to determine how this will be handled. There is typically a spot for ridesharing rides but reports indicate that the event organizers are handling logistics and parking so there could be changes to how this is handled.

Ridesharing Reimagined: At Boston Common Coach, will continue with our tradition of getting fans from Boston, Peabody, and soon to be several other locations, down to Boston Stadium early enough so you don't miss anything. Our key benefits include:

  • Tailgating allowed - Bring your favorite beverages 🍻and food🍔. We'll have some coolers with water available or bring your own coolers! Chairs, yard games, and tents will be available for shared use from some pick up locations. Fans can also opt head to the local restaurants and shops beforehand.

  • Bathrooms on board - We can't make traffic magically disappear, but we do have a bathroom on board for you so you don't end up on the news like some of the fans in the videos above for going in locals backyards.

  • Easily find vehicle after - We send ticket holders a real-time link to the location of the vehicle for easier navigation after the game.

  • Friendly atmosphere - Our experience has always been a family friendly and stress free way to travel to major events at Gillette Stadium.

  • You have a secure plan - You won't be fighting for a spot on the train or worried about securing a typical rideshare. Your same bus and driver will ready to bring you back to your pick up location. All you do is find your event, select your pick up location and book your roundtrip ride to Boston Stadium.

Whatever path you choose, just make sure to plan ahead for this exciting series of matches for soccer fans.
